State fund budgets were also discussed

The government expects a budget deficit of 295 bn kroner in 2023, 80 bn less than this year. Expenses related to the war in Ukraine, inflation and expensive energy will be covered. For example, the state transportation infrastructure fund will have 23 bn kronor more than this year, making it possible to spend 151 bn. According to the opposition, the budget is unrealistic and it will be deemed necessary to implement a deviation.

State fund budgets were also discussed: for transportation infrastructure, environment, investment support, agricultural and intervention fund.

Training of Ukrainian soldiers on the territory of the Czech Republic has been organized: it is based on a bilateral agreement between the two governments. According to the proposal, Czechia will be able to allocate up to 55 soldiers to the EU assistance mission; they will be able to work in any member state in command structures or in instructor positions. “The main emphasis will be on the training of new or mobilized Ukrainian soldiers, the operation of weapon systems, the management of planning processes, i.e., all activities necessary to successfully conduct the fight against the Russian aggressor,” the document for lawmakers reads.

By approving the proposal, the House also agreed to the extension of Czech participation in Iraq, where up to 20 Czech soldiers may be involved in NATO missions 2023 – 2024. According to the material, the new mission is to send up to 40 military policemen to Kosovo, where they will work in an Italian Carabinieri unit from July next year until the end of 2024.
