November marked an economy confidence’s recovery for Czech consumers

In October, Czech consumer confidence was the lowest ever. It has re-grown by more than four percentage points. This is indicated by the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO). The aggregate confidence indicator showed a slight increase, especially concern about the overall economic situation and one’s own financial situation has decreased. Confidence in the business sector did not increase as much as among consumers. The most optimistic are construction enterprises, less so industries, and it remains stable between services and trade sectors.

The confidence indicator, in general, increased by 0.3 percent compared to October. In businesses it decreased by 0.4, and in consumers it increased by 4.1 percent.

Anastasija Nejasova of the CZSO’s economic surveys department said it is too early to talk about a change in the trend, as people still remain pessimistic overall in their key indicator’s evaluation.
